Designed
by renowned architect Joe Finger, the 18-hole golf course of Ellendale
Country Club is a challenging, Par 72, 7165 yards stretching through the
scenic landscape of South Louisiana. Ellendale has emerged as one of the
finest private clubs in the region following a recent two million dollar
renovation of the golf course which included tee boxes, green surrounds,
fairways, and new mounding, lakes and water features. The greens of Ellendale
are touted as some of the best maintained and manicured in the region.
The practice area of Ellendale includes a new driving range just completed
in late summer of 2008, an 18-hole putting green, practice bunker and
chipping and pitching green.
In 2006, Ellendale was designated as the
1st U.S. Kids Golf Family Friendly Golf Course in the Gulf States Section
of the PGA and offers two additional sets of tees for children and beginners.
Ellendale is an annual tour stop on the
Adams Golf Pro Tour Series and plays host to some of the top professionals
in the game each year in the Capital One Classic. The club also regularly
plays host to top amateur events such as the Louisiana State Amateur,
4-Ball, and Mid Amateur tournaments.
Many of golf’s greats have walked
the fairways of Ellendale over the years, including Masters Champion Craig
